Fifty shades of pink
Ladies come together to raise awareness for breast cancer.
Breasts took center stage at the Fifty Shades of Pink Cuppa for Cancer at Braeside, Ballito on October 17.
The more than 130 ladies who supported the event were encouraged to not be shy and take care of their bosoms.
Sandra Thomas from Satin Candy emphasised the importance of checking yourself regularly.
“Believe it or not, there are people who do not know about cancer. So we need to continually preach the word against breast cancer,” said Thomas.
She said that women need to know their breasts so that they will be able to see if there is any change.
“Stand in from of the mirror and look at your breasts, touch them and see if you feel anything unusual,” said Thomas.
She said it was important for women to know the size of their breasts and wearing the correct bra size is a must.
“Your bra needs to make your breasts comfortable and if your bra is the first thing you want to get rid off when you get home, you might be wearing the wrong size bra,” said Thomas.
