Throwback Thursday: 5 Days of Our Lives characters we’ll miss
From 20 July the Bradys, Hortons and DiMeras will no longer be a part of our lives. Here are some of the Salemites we'll miss.
Marlena Evans
Why: She’s the true definition of a winner. She has been through some of the craziest situations but still came out on top. Do you know of anyone who’s been possessed by the devil, survived a four-year coma and was mind controlled but still managed to be a mother, doctor and friend?
Sami Brady
Why: Her perseverance. Sami learnt a thing or two from her mother Marlena, and that’s never to give up. She might not have ended up with the love of her life, Austin, but she never gave up on love. We can’t ignore her despicable ways that made us either love or hate her.
Kristin DiMera
Why: Because Kristin gave much more than just Kristin, she gave us Susan Banks, a woman who was hired by her dad to carry a child for Kristin! Here’s another plot twister. Susan had an entourage – her siblings – the nun Mary Moria, the brother Thomas and another sister, Penelope.

Celeste Perrault
Why: Celeste should be known for more than just being Stefano DiMera’s lover. She travelled the world and gained psychic powers which she used to help the police with cases. Overall Celeste was not just a pretty face with a great sense of fashion; it was her ability to predict the future that made her awesome.
Stefano DiMera
Why: The most tech savvy person in Salem – not only did he have the ability to control people’s minds and plant chips in their brains, he also had the amazing ability to keep people’s memories on a floppy disk, way before the USB or even Facebook was a reality. Stefano also had more lives than all the cats you can think of, and for that, he will always be one of the great soapie legends.
