Etete rapper drops a beat
Feli Kay's rapping style grew out of these talents to form a soulful sound making him stand out from the rest.
Taking inspiration from local artists and adding a bit of his own magic, Etete musician “Feli Kay” aims to one day be South Africa’s most famous rapper.
From the age of three, Kevin Nyamo, who goes by the name of Feli Kay, learnt to play the piano at church.
“My father is a pastor and I spent a lot of time at church learning how to play the piano.
When I was in high school I developed a love for writing poems and stories. That inspired me to write my own music. My first song was written for one of my ex girlfriends,” he said laughing.

The third year UKZN business accounts student juggled his studies and love for music when he worked tirelessly for over a year on a mixed tape with 17 of his own songs.
“All my songs are just me spilling my feelings. Studios are expensive and my friend had equipment like a professional microphone and recorder. I would go to his house for hours just to record.”
So far Feli Kay has performed at UKZN and the KwaDukuza music festival. He hopes to one day have the opportunity to perform live at clubs.
