If there is one app I would not like to go without this year, it has to be The Entertainer App.

If you like to eat out, play golf, visit the spa, travel and try new things – and you love a great deal – then this app is for you.

The Entertainer App basically gives you access to thousands of ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ deals across more than 25 destinations worldwide.

You can download the app anytime, it is free, and purchase the relevant city pack, which in our case is Durban (valid for one calender year).

My husband and I bought the app in May last year and, considering we had already missed a few months, I wondered if we were going to get our money’s worth.

According to the app I made a savings of R1855 last year (bearing in mind that we had recently had our first child so we did not go out nearly as much as before).

A year (January to December) subscription is R395 so I’d say it definly worked in our favour.

We also visited a host of great restaurants that we never would have gone to otherwise, simply because they were listed in the app.

Each participating merchant (there are 250 in the Durban pack) offers you three vouchers to use within the year.

The app also gives you the address, phone number and directions to the venue.

When you request the bill, just tell the waiter to please process your Entertainer offer.

Open the app, select the restaurant and click on the offer. When the bill arrives, the restaurant will have made the deduction.

You pay the reduced total, but remember to tip on the full bill, its only fair.
