Umhlali Night Owls sew with love
The group needs volunteers who can do basic knitting and sewing and who are willing to get involved.
Women from the Sheffield Night Owls recently donated beautiful home-made quilts to needy children in Mandeni.
Together with the Umhlali Methodist Church sewing club, the Night Owls donated the quilts to the children’s house in Mandeni, part of the Brotherhood of Blessed Gerard, where they care for 23 children.
The quilts, along with a few knitted blankets, were handed out to big smiles from the little ones. Each child also received a pencil case containing stationery for school that were donated by locals.
Umhlali Methodist Church sewing club are a group of women who work together to provide clothing, blankets and toys for needy children and the elderly.
They meet twice a month at the Umhlali Methodist Church where they collect donated material, such as wool, to take home and knit or sew.
The group needs volunteers who can do basic knitting and sewing and who are willing to get involved.
