Music to the Orphan Fund’s ears

Orphan Fund secretary Rose Stephenson thanked the community for their unwavering support

More than R22 000 was raised for orphans and vulnerable children on the Dolphin Coast at the fabulous musical Chicago last Thursday.

Locals came out in numbers to the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre to see KickstArt’s glamorous actors razzel-dazzele the audience while oozing gritty sex appeal. Chicago explored the themes of celebrity, scandal and corruption in the prohibition-era, jazz-infused Chicago.

The satirical musical-noir was based on a 1926 play by reporter Maurine Dallas Watkins about real life Chicago criminals from true cases.

Orphan Fund secretary Rose Stephenson thanked the community for their unwavering support.

“Without you we would not be able to provide for so many NGOS who rely on us for their children’s next meal. A special thank you to the large group who came out from Palm Lakes. Every ticket sold means a brighter future for the most vulnerable in our community,” she said.
