WIN! Tickets for the ECR House and Garden Show up for grabs
This year's ECR House and Garden Show presents a forest of new home innovations to spice up your space, inside and out
Refresh your living space the green way, give your grey matter something to work on and excite your taste buds at the annual ECR House & Garden Show from June 30 to July 9 at the Durban Exhibition Centre.
This year’s ECR House and Garden Show presents a forest of new home innovations to spice up your space, inside and out, including a brand new move in the quest to go green.
African Green Revolution (AGR) presents the AGR House, a sophisticated new low cost, one room structure crafted from re-purposed plastic, including two litre plastic bottles for bricks and plastic bottle lids for flooring.
The AGR initiative is spearheaded by Michelle Markram from MSQ Interiors who said their goal is to both solve sustainable building issues and inspire new innovations.
“The AGR house demonstrates the value and the wealth in waste, a profound new direction for society as a whole to move toward,” said Markram.

Leave your age at the door
Kids aged 6-60 (and beyond), make sure you pop into Salt Rock local Steve Gray’s gym for creativity co-ordinated and facilitated by The MakerSpace, making their debut appearance at the show.
Unleash your imagination at the interactive revolving exhibit featuring ten activities aimed at inspiring creativity.
With 45 minute long session starting on the hour, every hour, parents are encouraged to participate with their kids in this colour-filled playground of the mind.
Watch and get involved in the wonder of 3D printing pen design, science experiments run by ‘Little Lab Coats’, make your own robotics and electronics, lino printing, first person view (FPV) radio controlled car driving, ‘Dad & Me’ wood working and even soldering for seniors and juniors.

Peering even deeper into the future of creative fun are demonstrations on laser etched cutting boards, cupcake icing 3D printers, and 3D scanning and 3D printing of visitor’s heads! Daytime prices at The MakerSpace range from R50 to R200 per activity, and festivities run throughout the day.
During the evenings the big kid playground is in even fuller swing with workshops aimed exclusively at adults.
With over 450 exhibitors on display you will leave thoroughly inspired and ready to do, and design, your home.
Tickets are available at the door or at i-Tickets and cost R85 per person, R60 for seniors over 60 and students, while children under 12 enter free with an adult.
Show times are Monday to Thursday 10am – 9pm, Friday – Saturday 10am – 10pm and Sunday 10am – 8pm.
