What to do on the coast this weekend

The weekend is here and there is much on the go in and around the Dolphin Coast!

Saturday, July 15

  • Brush up on your self-defense and be prepared for the unexpected by joining the self-defense class for women and youths at the Belvedere community hall from 9am to 11am.
  • Look forward to music, food stalls, traders with art, crafts and coffee shops and kids entertainment at the Car boot sale on the Ballito Bay Mall roof from 9am to 3pm. Call 083 780 1953 or brenda@ghekkoevents.co.za.

 

  • CUM books Ballito Junction will be hosting a kiddies book reading and signing with Christian evangelist Angus Buchan, at 11am.

 

  • Head down to Sugar Rush Park for the Sugar Rush Market from 7-11am. Browse through fresh, home made, hand made, local and organically produced products to support our local growing and developing area.

 

 

  • The Wavescape Surf Festival as part of the Durban International Film Festival 2017, will take place for the first time at uShaka Marine World in Arena 5 (adjacent to Moyo). It features 24 short, medium and feature length movies which is free to the public. On Saturday is The rise of us, the Amaphiko profiles – on Samantha Ngcolombo, Thato Kgatlhanye,  WandisileNqeketho and Mma’ Mary Raletooane, and Exploring Madagascar. The fun starts at 6pm.

 

Sunday, July 16

  • The Wavescape Surf Festival as part of the Durban International Film Festival 2017, will take place for the first time at uShaka Marine World in Arena 5 (adjacent to Moyo). It features 24 short, medium and feature length movies which is free to the public. On Sunday watch repeats on selected Red Bull movies screened over the weekend.
Join the BRCC this weekend and you could win this remote control airplane.
  • Win a radio controlled airplane! Join in sky high fun with the Ballito Radio Control Club (BRCC) at their open day on Sunday. A ‘ready to fly model airplane’ will be raffled on the day to raise funds for the club, 50% of which will be donated to the North Coast Courier Orphan Fund. The open day will be held at the BRCC airfield just outside Ballito.
