An ‘I Heart Market’ launch and more on the Coast this weekend

From Christmas carols to market days, there is so much on the go this weekend!

Friday, November 24

  • Khaya Hospice to host a golf day at Kloof Country Club. Entry fee is R2400 per 4-ball and ½ way and dinner included. Contact Steve at 083 408 1762 or ultisolutions@ gmail.com.

Saturday, November 25

  • The Wartburg Christmas Market will be held at the village’s Lutheran church and Wartburg Hotel, 8am to 2pm. Crafts galore, food stalls and bar.

  • I Heart Market North from 9am – 2pm at Blythedale Coastal Resort. Expect fashion, jewellery, home décor, kiddies wear, plants, natural skin care, deli goods, accessories, vintage collectibles, art, ceramics and delicious food.

 

  • Annual El Camino de Santiago – annual practical Camino workshop at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Old Main Road, Kloof, 8am to 12pm. Cost R25 includes handouts, tea and a donation to the church. Please bring a non- perishable food item for food parcels for the poor. Contact Syl Nilsen at 083 474 8086.

  • Durban Visual Art students have their final art exhibition opening on Saturday, November 25, showcasing hidden talent that is waiting to be discovered. Come and view the collection of thought provoking artworks of various mediums at 24 Edmund Morewood Dr, Tongaat from 7pm. For inquiries contact Andre Swanepoel on 072 184 8142 or 032 945 2654.

 

  • Head down to Sugar Rush Park every Saturday for the Sugar Rush Market from 7.30-noon. Browse through fresh, home made, hand made, local and organically produced products to support our local growing and developing area. Contact Gill at gill@sugarrush.co.za

  • Ashton College craft and food market from 4pm and at 6pm a carol service led by Ashton choirs. Entrance fee is R20 per person, includes song sheet and a LED candle. Stalls are available on application to marketing1@ashtonballito.co.za at a cost of R100. All proceeds from the gate will be donated to a local charity.

 

  • Pet owners, note that there will be a low noise, localised outdoor fireworks display on the beach at Canelands at 8.30pm. It will only take five minutes. Contact 031- 7644067.

Sunday, November 26

  • Song and Christmas Carols with Durban Symphonic Choir at All Souls Church Umhlali, 1 Sheffield Beach Road at 3pm. R80 adults and R40 children and school pupils. Proceeds in aid of The North Coast Courier Orphan Fund and Nkobongo Resource Centre.

  • A pilgrimage information meeting to be held at All Souls Church, 1 Sheffield Beach Road, Umhlali at 11am. Revd Colin Peattie will lead a pilgrimage to the Holy Land from August 16-27, visiting many of the sites associated with the life and ministry of Christ in Bethlehem, Nazareth, the Galilee and Jerusalem, and other sites.
