#WeekendEvents: Beach concert, rugby and more on the Coast

From a free concert and more surfing action down on the beach, to Ballito Dolphins rugby and Mango Groove live at Sugar Rush Park. Here is your event and entertainment guide for the weekend!

Friday, June 29

  • Grab your baggies and bikinis and get ready to soak up the warm winter sun as KwaDukuza welcomes The Ballito Pro presented by Billabong and the biggest beach festival on the continent. For a list of all the non-stop entertainment you can enjoy, click HERE.

  • Enjoy live music at The Market at Lifestyle Centre Ballito. Crystin Parnell will be performing from 6.30pm – 8.30pm.
  • The Ballito Pro Free Music Concerts Powered by 5FM at Salt Rock beach will give you live entertainment at its best. Sporting an awesome line up, enjoy live music from Prime Circle, December Streets, TIMO ODV, The Kickstands, Nick Hamman, Rob Forbes and Roger Goode. The fun starts at 4pm.

Saturday, June 30

  • Every Saturday morning Forest Hills German Shepherd Club Ballito holds dog training for all breeds at Townsend park, Ballito. Times are as follows: 7:50am advanced; 8.30am beginners. Contact chairperson Gaby Lyle on 082 925 6481.

  • Enjoy live music at The Market at Lifestyle Centre Ballito. Ross Charles will be performing from 12.30pm – 3.30pm, followed by Rob Stories from 6pm – 9pm.
  • The Ballito Dolphins rugby club are back at home this weekend, where they will take on the Zululand Rhino’s at Sugar Rush Park. Kick off for second team is 12.30pm, followed by the first team at 2pm. Bring your picnic blanket, grab a drink and a bite to eat and enjoy a day out under the Dolphin Coast sun while you support your boys!

Sunday, July 1

  • Enjoy live music at The Market at Lifestyle Centre Ballito. Graham Hunt will be performing from 12.30pm – 3.30pm.

  • A year later and Ballito locals can count their “special stars” that Mango Groove will be performing again, on the grassy lawns of Sugar Rush Park this weekend the 1st July. The Marriott Ballito Beats Music Series will bring people together for the ultimate family entertainment; enjoyed with friends, great food and beverages, activities for the little ones and a chance to see the best in South African music. Gates will open at 1pm on Sunday and fans will be treated to two musical sets, with Mango Groove taking to the stage at 3:30pm, and local KZN duo Qadasi and Maqhinga warming things up from 2pm. Tickets are on sale HERE.
