Ballito dancers in top form

This year saw KZN, Western Cape, Gauteng and Mpumalanga sending dancers as well as a guest team from Mauritius.

The North Coast was strongly represented at the recent Dance Sport School League’s second inter-provincial tournament at Glenwood Boys’ High School.

Ballito’s Sugar Dance Studios’ dancers heated up the dance floor with Hannah James, Olivia Grassie, Samantha Southwood, Sbabalwe Tundzi and Kimberley Arthur making up the U13 KZN team who all made the national All Star Team.

Bianca Vinay was the U18 coach and Tiffany Bishop the U14 coach, while Connor Lumsden and Julie Robert were both national adjudicators.

This year saw KZN, Western Cape, Gauteng and Mpumalanga sending dancers as well as a guest team from Mauritius.

The league ran over the first and second terms, with provincial teams selected to compete for the national title.

For the second year in a row Kwa-Zulu Natal has taken the top spot earning the overall highest marks across solos, duos and small groups in U13, U14, U16 and U18 male and female categories.

Special mention must be made of the U13 female team – four of which were local girls – who cleaned up in all three categories.

Langelihle Jiane’s U13 male team placed first in their small group category.
