A ‘berry’ fun time at the Strawberry Festival

Put on your very big “berry” smiles and head down to Cappeny Estates this Saturday, August 11 for the annual Ballito Strawberry Festival.
Cappeny Estates brings together a culmination of captivating and experiential festivity, food, drinks, activities and entertainment to this year’s festival, which will be fun for the whole family.
Once you’ve enjoyed the unique hands-on experience of picking strawberries in the open fields, head on to the festival and enjoy live music by well-known South Coast entertainer Winston Smile and Durban band, Deep Breath.
The Berry Cooking Stage will showcase three of Durban’s amazing creative chefs, Sherwyn Weaich, Khutso Masethe and Tony Kocke, who will perform live cooking demos featuring mouth-watering strawberry recipes.
For the foodies, choose from an array of hearty gourmet dishes from the likes of BB Bakeries Bunny Chow Truck, Out to Lunch Food Truck, Eat Greek, Maddison Bakery, D’urban Burger and Wunderoll.

To quench your thirst, head to The Berry Beer Bar and enjoy handcrafted Robsons Real Beer, G&T cocktails with fresh strawberries and botanicals by the Gin Garden Bar, bubbles from the valley of wines and roses at Bon Courage, or a proudly KZN at-your-door-step cultivated wine, Seventeen 87. If you’re into mocktails, Smooth Operator will quench any taste with their mocktails and smoothies.

Craving something sweet? Visit Decadent Desserts, Sugarlicious or Maverick and Jane popcorn and satisfy your sweet tooth.
For the kids there will be non-stop entertainment on the go, including crafts with recycled materials and face painting with the Magic Bean Foundation, slime fun with Oober Slime, ice-creams by Ola, jumping castles and more.
Tickets
Tickets are limited and can be purchased at iTickets.co.za for R150 each.
A purchase of one admission ticket gives you x1 entry into the festival and x1 entry to pick strawberries.
Kids five and under get free entry, but only pick strawberries under paying adult supervision. No alcohol may be brought to the festival and venue.
