Suncoast deals a good hand at Salon Privé launch
This is just one of the new Suncoast offerings after an 18-month redevelopment of the casino.
Art deco, opulence featuring hand-painted murals and high ceilings envelope the serious gamer at the newly opened Salon Privé gaming area at Suncoast Casino, Durban.
Located on the upper level with 180-degree ocean views, 21 additional gaming tables, 202 slot machines, private rooms as well as an exclusive restaurant and a bar – this is just one of the new Suncoast offerings after an 18-month redevelopment of the casino.

At the classy launch last Thursday, Suncoast marketing manager Louise Howell said the journey was a long road but the end of the casino’s complete redevelopment was only a few months away.
“There is no doubt that we and our guests have experienced some challenges with continuing operations while conducting the refurbishment but it will be worth it once the exciting project is complete. We have recently publicised the opening of the new Banyard Theatre in early December and this will be accompanied by the introduction of seven additional restaurants as well as the Suncoast Globe, our new events facility.”

On completion, the facelift would have increased its floor space to 46 306 sq. m. with an updated children’s facility, increased parking and slots machines.
KZN MEC for economic growth and development, Sihle Zikalala commended casino management for their commitment to improving economic opportunities and growth in the country.
“This is a very important day as this is one of the most major investments in the country as a whole since 1994. This investment will help us address unemployment and improve economic growth.
During the construction young people were placed in internships and women-owned businesses benefited from this. This redevelopment is a reflection of innovation.”
