The girls will be known as the SWISH Elite Dance Company (SEDC).
Eight children from Swish Studios in Umhlali will be representing South Africa in the World Lyrical Dance Federation Championships (WLDF) at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in England next year.
The girls – Caitlynn Fomison, Mia Towell, Cathy Barry, Erin Wilkins, Aimee Barnard, Caraline Hill, Gabriella Biagi, Cara Towell and Hannah Wilkins – will be known as the SWISH Elite Dance Company (SEDC).

They are trained in Ballet, Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Jazz and Acrobatics by the teachers at SWISH Studios, Catherine (Cathy) Barry, Maria Yazykova and Savanna Thunder.
Some of these girls competed in 2017 as well and Caraline Hill is currently the World Lyrical Champion in the under 12 age group.
“I am immensely proud of these young dancers, who have continuously astonished us with their perseverance and talent.
“They have worked unbelievably hard for everything they have achieved and continue to make giant strides in this art form,” said Barry.
Nine-year-old Gabriella Biagi said she was looking forward to the competition and plans to enjoy herself.
“I feel so proud to have the opportunity to dance in England. I cannot wait to dance on that stage and have so much fun,” said Biagi.
