Restaurant Review: 2 On Main

Their new menu comprises of what I call 'Ballito standards', including pizza, pasta, seafood and a few other dishes.

2 On Main, formally known as Lol’s Food Fusions, has gone under new management.

I never ate at Lol’s so can’t comment on the changes but speaking to the manger they have completely revamped the menu.

Their new menu comprises of what I call ‘Ballito standards’, including pizza, pasta, seafood and a few other dishes.

The service was fine and our waiter was friendly and attentive.

Venue-wise this restaurant and sports diner is rather impressive, clearly no expense has been spared. The eye-catching hanging lights and lit-up bar create a super atmosphere.

We ordered a crumbed mushroom starter, nacho’s and prawns. For the kids a regina pizza and a toasted chicken mayo sandwich.

The mushrooms were well executed and deep fried so a wonderful golden brown.

By far the stand-out order was the prawns, served with a garlic butter sauce and a side of either chips, salad, rice, mash or the veg of the day. They were on point and delicious.

The mushrooms were well executed and deep fried so a wonderful golden brown. The tartar sauce that come with it could have been a touch thicker and was on the watery side.

2 On Main do not have a wood burning pizza oven, so the pizza did lack a charred crust that I like. But the kids smashed it none the less.

There are TV’s inside for those wanting to wine, dine and enjoy live sport coverage.

The nacho’s had me a little disappointed. They added a massive amount of cheese which acted as a steam pocket encasing the nacho’s in moisture which made them a bit soggy however the flavour was bang on, if they used a little less cheese it would have been a cracker meal.

The venue also offers a more than adequate kids area which is super helpful and parking is ample.

The fish tank was also very impressive and had my kid’s attention for most of the meal.

All in all, it was a nice meal and stunning venue.

The manger is doing a great job from what I can see so I would most definitely recommend it.
