Festival fun with heart in Ballito this weekend

A wonderland of festivities all in the name of raising funds for a worthy cause.

Get ready to bounce, eat proudly local food and be entertained at the exciting Ballito Family Festival hosted by the Rotary Club of Ballito on September 29 and 30.

Taking place at Umhlali Preparatory School, the field will be transformed into a wonderland of festivities all in the name of raising funds for a worthy cause.

Rotary Club of Ballito’s Jeff Shinns said the money raised will be used to provide much-needed medical equipment for the disabled.

“We have identified a desperate need in the elderly and disabled communities for wheelchairs, medical beds and rollators to make their lives a little easier and to make them more mobile,” said Shinns.

“We have been fortunate to have found a supplier in the UK who will give us a large range of equipment for the disabled.”

This however comes with a hefty price tag, as shipping a 40 ft container from the UK to Durban costs in the region of R85,000.

So they need all the support they can get to raise funds at the Ballito Family Festival weekend and they have made sure to offer something for everyone including live music, a beer and gin garden, food stalls, vintage car displays, a kids play area with mind blowing inflatables and a crafters market.

  • Tickets are R60 for adults and children under 12 enter free.
  • Kids pay R75 for non-stop fun on the various inflatables – remember to bring a towel and costume.
  • Book your tickets online on Quicket or at the door on the day.

Doors open at 9.30am until 5pm on Saturday and Sunday.
