Gauteng suburbs with houses for under R1 million

Data pulled from the month of April this year showcased 10 suburbs from all around Gauteng that had average house prices of under R1 million. Incredibly, there are options that cater for all needs, whether you are working north or south of the Johannesburg CBD.

Should you need to be closer to the south, then you have access to the most affordable suburb on the list, which was Winchester Hills. The average house price here was just R850 000. Linmeyer is another option to consider, though the average price here is R100 000 higher.

On the opposite side of the CBD you could consider Ferndale, which is minutes away from Randburg. This peaceful suburb offers good value for its placement, with an average price just R2000 shy of six figures.

The West Rand is represented by the suburbs of Radiokop and Witpoortjie, which are both located in Roodepoort. The West Rand has seen significant development in recent times and has become a popular choice for those looking for good value.

Midrand had three contenders on the list, which is perfect for those looking to move between Johannesburg and Pretoria. Halfway Gardens, Erand Gardens and Noordwyk are all viable options here.

Lastly, if you look between North Riding and Lanseria, the suburbs of Northwold and Jackal Creek will provide you with a few options for under R1 million.
