PICS: Locals win big in #LifeTheBallitoWay photo competition

Just under 500 photos depicting what life the Ballito way truly means, flooded social media as prizes up to the total value of R40 000 were up for grabs.

Hundreds of bright and colourful photos depicting the beauty of our breathtaking coastal town flooded social media over the last month as Lifestyle Centre hosted their #LifeTheBallitoWay photo competition.

Just under 500 entries were received for the competition, which was held in celebration of Lifestyle Centre’s 15th birthday, and R40 000 was given away in prizes.

Here are your winners:

Clinching 1st prize was Angelique Manias with her photo ‘Dog on bench’, winning a R10 000 gift card to shop anywhere at Lifestyle Centre.

Angelique decided to donate her prize to charity – another display of what it means to live #LifeTheBallitoWay.

Second prize of a R5000 gift card went to Amy Jenkins for capturing ‘Yoga on the beach’.

The third prize of a R2500 gift was awarded to Kiara Reddy for her pic ‘Ice Cream’.

Fifteen runners up prizes of R1000 each were awarded to Leonie Spangenberg, Samantha Akker Basson, Sylvia Rebecca Berthelson, Scott Pearmain, Samantha Kegel, Barry Bowditch, Brad Neves, Carolyn Ten-Bokum, Emma Pennefather, Kathy Godwin, Khadija Hassim, Melissa Lee Lupton, Melissa Leigh, Rory Rieseberg and Lynette Rawlings.

During the course of the competition, a further 30 lucky entrants received spot prizes of between R250 and R500 in gift cards each.

According to Lifestyle Centre owner, Bruce Rencken, the competition was a huge success.

“The entries were brilliant, showcasing all the aspects of what makes life in Ballito so special, from the beach and the promenade, to friends and family, to the bike trails in the sugar cane, to The Market and Eat Street in Lifestyle Centre!

“The judging process was a tough one but when you take a look at all the winning photos, they really represent what #LifeTheBallitoWay is all about for our customers.”
