Hats, heels and pearls for a cause at Zululand BWA charity high tea

Be part of the change and make a difference by attending this lavish event.

The countdown is on for the Zululand Businesswomen’s Association (BWA) year-end charity high tea in Empangeni and Dolphin Coast women are urged to participate in this worthy cause.

Hosted this year in association with Umfolozi Casino Resort and Convention Centre, the charity event will see 200 professional women converge with one goal in mind – beefing up early childhood development (ECD) in our region.

Proceeds from the event, scheduled for 24 November at 10am at the Umfolozi Casino Resort, will go towards the Zululand Observer charity arm DICE’s (Do I Care Enough?) ECD training programme for teachers in rural crèches in Zululand.

The newly elected BWA Zululand committee is ready to do busines (back) Hlengiwe Mvubu, Cindy Chetty, Rynie Kearns (Treasurer), Clarissa Graham (BWA Coordinator), and Megan Erasmus; (front) Jabu Dlamini (Vice-Chairperson), Ronelle Ramsamy (Chairperson) and Tracy-Anne Aggett (Vice-Chairperson).

The charity high tea will also be a platform for recent winners of the Regional Business Achiever’s Awards to share their success stories with keynote speakers being RBIDZ Brand and Marketing Manager Zodwa Zikalala and Umfolozi Casino Resort General Manager Pam Nagappa.

“This initiative will go a long way towards creating a lasting legacy by imparting into the education of children and training future leaders. It is vital to capitalise on the first six years of a child’s life to maximise opportunities for learning,” said newly elected BWA chair Ronelle Ramsamy.

“The investment we make now will pay off within the next 10 to 15 years when these toddlers enter the job market. We can make a difference as to the role they will play in society,’ said Ramsamy.

Tables for the charity tea cost R1000 per table or R100 per person. For more information, contact BWA Zululand Coordinator Clarissa Graham on zululand@bwasa.co.za
