“I was blessed to have been nominated and chosen to receive an award for being one of the “Influential Women of the Year 2018”.

“It was an amazing night of glitz and glamour. I hope it will help inspire, motivate and encourage women in the new year and I dedicate the award to all the women of great strength and courage out there,” said Pillay, who was a Mrs India South Africa finalist last year and works for the Seaward Estate Home Owners Association.

The Big M Productions event was lead by Pinky Mothie, a legend in the movie and entertainment industry, who honoured thirty women from all walks of life for their contribution to their community.

“Melanie was one of the outstanding women who was honored for her credentials and community support.

“She is a dynamic, professional woman of power who surely deserves this honour. She was nominated and thereafter screened and interviewed before being awarded,” said Mothie.
