Thousands raised at Sables Creatures beach walk

The five-kilometre beach walk was one of their most successful fundraisers.

Tails were wagging in excitement and pooches and their owners spent their Sunday morning, walking, running and socialising at the Sables Creatures beach walk.

Crowds of people gathered early at the Concha restaurant on Compensation Beach Road, Ballito in support of the nonprofit organisation rescue organisation whose mission is to help homeless, abused and neglected animals.

Relying upon donations, the organisation thrives on the generosity of the community, who lastweekend showed their support in large numbers.

Sable’s volunteer Dee Allan said the five-kilometre beach walk was one of their most successful fundraisers.

“We did not expect the amazing turn-out and we raised almost R22 000 from the 225 runners and walkers who joined us.”
