Celebrating autism with colour at annual SA Rainbow Walk for Autism – Durban

Key note speaker will be Dr Yavini Reddy and there will be lucky draws with awesome prizes.

Put on your colourful clothes and join the annual SA Rainbow Walk for Autism at Peoples Park, Moses Mabhida Stadium on April 14 from 1.30pm.

Ballito psychologist and director of the Imbalito Hope College Nirasha Dhaniram organised the walk and said they hope to raise awareness and bring people together in celebration of Autism Awareness Month.

“Our hope with these activations is to create an understanding and acceptance of people with autism,” said Dhaniram, who’s teenager son, Mikhail has autism.

“The journey with Mikhail was one of blood, sweat and tears – both pain and joy; as he and all the children I work with at Imbalito Hope College and their families make strides everyday. I salute every parent, professional and world citizen who has and will never give up on a child with autism.”

She said she prays for all children and adults with autism, their families and care givers to have great strength as they move forward with hope to overcome the immense challenges that the disorder brings.

Key note speaker will be Dr Yavini Reddy and there will be lucky draws with awesome prizes.

Entrance costs R100 for adults and R50 for children under 12.

You can choose between the one kilometre walk or the two kilometer walk/run.
