Valley of Lights promises to bring shimmering Christmas wonder-world to life at Sugar Rush

A festive wonderland set to shine a light on the darkness of 2020, the Valley of Lights has returned and promises to be an experience for the whole family.

Sugar Rush Park, in an effort to bring to life a magical experience of Christmas lights, has teamed up with Magic Lighting and Wholefood Eventing.

Part of the team behind transforming Sugar Rush Park into a spectacle of shimmering light, Kerry Nicholson of Perfectly Planned Events said a wide range of local, bespoke food producers, some craft and some Christmas shopping will be available while kids take a socially distanced picture with Santa.

“Every child will receive a free ride on the Polar Express Christmas train.

“There will also be a range of other activities like night putt putt, sand art, slime workshops, jumping castle and more will be available and charged per activity,” she said.

Set to run from this coming Monday, December 14 through to December 30, doors will be open daily from 6-10.30pm.

The Valley of Lights will be closed on December 25 and 26.

Tickets are available online with Ticket Pro – these are capped at 500 per night to maintain social distancing measures.

Depending on the number of online sales, tickets may be available for purchase at the door.

Ticket prices start at R70 per person for 6pm, and R60 per person for 8pm.

There is no entrance fee for children under the age of 2.

“We are taking the health and safety of everyone attending this event very seriously, and extra precautions have been taken to comply with Covid-19 protocols.

“It is compulsory that masks be worn throughout this event.”
