#BookReview: Jeremia en die Amandelboom

In this beautifully illustrated story, young Jeremia also struggles to speak, but God wants to speak with him and use him in spite of his handicap.

Publisher: Lupa

Not only does God speak, but He wants to speak to me!

‘Jeremia en die Amandelboom’ by Wendy Maartens takes the biblical story of Jeremiah and makes it accessible to young children (aged 4 to 8).

Jeremiah thought he was too young and too tongue-tied to be used by God.

But God had other ideas, speaking to Jeremiah through the blossoming of the almond tree, using it as a picture of how his Word is always fulfilled.

In this beautifully illustrated story, young Jeremia also struggles to speak, but God wants to speak with him and use him in spite of his handicap.

The book also has some great resources for parents and teachers of children with speech deficiencies.

I hope an English translation of this Afrikaans children’s book won’t be too long in the making.
