After a day at the beach hit the Ballito Pro Sundowner Festival

Yami's Unplugged will see artists like Gavin Ferguson, Ashleigh Joseph, The Kickstands and Elinor Chellan performing live music until Sunday.

Aside from the world-class surfing that has and will continue to stun Willard Beach crowds, there is another side to the Ballito Pro completely.

Even for the most ardent landlubbers who do not follow surfing, the Ballito Pro has something that will no doubt tickle your fancy.

In conjunction with the surfing action, there is an entertainment schedule designed to carry you on a high note all the way into the festive season.

So far, the Pro has seen a number of fun evening events, including a movie expo at the Ballito Village Sundowner Festival on Monday and a battle of the dj’s in Ntshawini on Tuesday night.

Whether you are based in Ballito, Salt Rock, Ntshawini or anywhere in-between, there is a venue nearby that will be hosting an event daily until December 19.

At the Ballito Village Sundowner festival – which hosted in a fenced off area by Ballito Surf Co, Ballito Backpackers, Concha and Mozambik – there are nightly live musicians and stalls on show.

Similarly, in Salt Rock, Yami Rib and Burger hosts Yami’s Unplugged which will see artists like Gavin Ferguson, Ashleigh Joseph, The Kickstands and Elinor Chellan performing live music until Sunday.

There are also daily meal specials to be enjoyed when winding down after a day on the beach.

Finally, the most exciting addition to the evening festivities this year is the inclusion of the Gidela Lounge in Ntshawini.

The highlight of the schedule until now was the battle of the djs, which was won after an energetic 10 minute set by Blackzin Syabonga Nzuza from Lindelani.

There is a closing picnic planned from 2pm on Saturday, December 18.

An important note is that the much anticipated Ballito Pro Skate Jam which was meant to take place on December 16, has moved to Saturday, December 18.

There will be a grom (U16) and open division, with skating taking place at the Ballito Skate Bowl from 4 until 9pm.

Be sure not to miss out on the last 5 days of the entertainment schedule, it is the place to be on the North Coast!
