Charlotte’s Web comes to Durban Botanic Gardens

This theatrical adaptation of EB White tells the story of Wilbur, a cute and plucky piglet who is rescued and hand-raised by a little girl named Fern.

Webbing its way onto the Durban Botanic Garden’s amphitheatre later this March, you can expect to find yourself caught in the web of an exciting story, few more charming than that of Charlotte’s Web.

Following the sell-out success of this heart-warming family show last year, Kickstart Threatre Co returns with the original cast.

This theatrical adaptation of EB White tells the story of Wilbur, a cute and plucky piglet who is rescued and hand-raised by a little girl named Fern.

Wilbur is sent to live on the Zuckerman’s farm in a barn full of delightful animal characters – this is where Wilbur befriends a spider named Charlotte. Charlotte needs to use all her cunning to outwit local farmers and save Wilbur’s life.

The colour and tranquil set of the Botanic Gardens, mixed with the marvelous puppets, theatrical magic and a cast of well-loved local actors makes this play the perfect holiday treat fit for all ages.

Tickets are priced at R150 per adult, while children under 12 and pensioners get in at R120 per head.

Plays are set to run from March 26 to April 3, daily at 2.30pm and morning plays at 11am on Saturdays.

The play on April 3 will be held at 11am.

Tickets available at webticket.co.za.

Mthokozisi Zulu (Wilbur) and Bryan Hiles (Templeton the Rat).
