What’s happening on the North Coast
From activities fit for the whole family to those you can hit up on your own, the North Coast has it all!

Whether you find live concerts or joining a local community organisation more to your fancy is completely up to you, but rest assured that with The North Coast Courier’s What’s Up On the North Coast events diary your chances of missing an event are pretty much zero.
28 April – Catch Noelin on piano at The Market from 10am to 12.30pm, Gavin Ferguson takes the stage from 5.30 to 8.30pm.
29 April – Cover band Hale Mary performs live at The Market between 6pm and 9pm, with Winston Smile covering Eat Street between 6.30 and 9.30pm.
– Chuck Bowden performs at La Piazza in Albertina Way, Ballito, from 5-8pm. Booking essential: 032 586 3565.
30 April – Ballito Day at Salmon Bay from 8am. This event promises to be a lot of fun for adults and children alike, with treasure hunts, games and even a beach clean-up. Entry is free and there are lots of giveaways, including fuel, coffee and salon vouchers. DJ and MC for the day is Chantelle Cloete.
4 May – Umhlali and District Garden and Flower Club meets at All Souls Anglican Church at 9.30am. A talk on organic fertilisers and pesticides for more natural gardening. Visitors welcome at R40.00. Contact Pete at 032 946 3935 or Anne at 032 940 5255 for further details.
6 May – Night market at The Litchi Orchard, Salt Rock, Foxhill from 4-9pm. Local crafts, delicious food, live music and more.
7 May – The Litchi Orchard gets uncorked with the inaugural ‘Uncorked’ Wine Festival, from midday to 6pm. Tickets from R300, available at webtickets.co.za.
– Mother’s Day Market at the Salt Rock Country Club from 9am to 2pm.
10 May – Visit the Ballito Library where the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) staff will assist with your blood donation. SANBS is at the library every second Tuesday of the new month from 10am to 6pm.
14 May – Ballito Gesinskerk presents its Autumn High Tea, hosted by social worker, motivational speaker and author of ‘Tuinhekkiestories’, Elmarie Booysen. Booysen will entertain and uplift the ladies under the theme ‘Liefde verander harte’. There will also be an informative talk by For Women 3D Mammography Centre and The Simunye Development Project. 25 May – Join the Wednesday Club, a charity organisation which raises funds for worthy causes, at the Ballito library, Compensation Beach Road, at 9am. Visitors welcome. Contact 082 602 4593.
