#MovieReview: A comfortable cup of tea without the scone
The unrefined film crew ruffle everyone's feathers. Lady Mary, who's marriage is under strain, remains behind to supervise the dashing director and his spoilt leading lady, handling everything with her usual poise.

Downton Abbey: A New Era is like a comforting cup of tea without the scone: pleasurable, but lacking sparkle.
If you loved the series, you are sure to enjoy this fun romp of a historical drama, if you go in with low expectations that is.
In this, the sequel to the 2019 film Downton Abbey, the Crawley family learn that Violet (Maggie Smith), the indomitable matriarch of the family, has inherited a villa in the south of France from a gentleman she knew from the 1860s.
Its a shock to everyone and all very suspicious, but mostly a great excuse to film at an exotic location. Still, Maggie delivers a fine performance and carries much of the film from her sick bed.
At the same time, the Crawleys are rather cash-strapped and must accept an offer for a film crew to produce a film at Downton, causing much to-do.
