What’s happening on the North Coast

From activities fit for the whole family to those you can hit up on your own, the North Coast has it all!

Whether you find live concerts or joining a local community organisation more to your fancy is completely up to you, but rest assured that with The North Coast Courier’s What’s Up On the North Coast events diary your chances of missing an event are pretty much zero.

16-18 June – ‘Beginning Again’ comedy show by doctor-turned comedian Suhayl Essa at iZulu Theatre, Sibaya Casino at 8pm. Tickets at ticketpro priced at R150pp.

16 June – Catch Noelin on piano at The Market from 10am-12.30pm, followed by Hale Mary until 3.30pm.

17 June – The Sugar Market at Salt Rock Country Club hosts an evening market between 5-9pm. Great food, live music and much more.

Lining up the evening entertainment at The Market and Eat Street, respectively, are James Freedom (6-9pm) and Quiet Storm (6.30-9.30pm).

18 June – Pop-up market with live music at Zimbali Beach Club from 10am-3pm. A portion of proceeds goes toward charity.

Performing at The Market from 10am-12.30pm is David Langley, followed by René Tshiakanyi until 3.30pm. The evening slot is filled by Rowan Stuart from 6-9pm. Eat Street has performances by Steve Graham from 12.30-3.30pm, followed by Hale Mary from 6.30-9.30pm.

19 June – The Father’s Day music line-up includes Calli Thomson at 10am, followed by Rob Warren until 3.30pm (The Market), Afritude from 1-4pm (Eat Street) and Steadfast 10.30am-12.30pm (The Studios).

20 June – Probus Club meeting at Umhlali Country Club, midday for 12.30pm. Speaker reverend Colin Peattie will talk on tours to the Holy Land. Visitors pay R50. Members enter free. Contact 082 657 0094.

22 June – Sip & Paint evening at Mike’s Kitchen Salt Rock from 6-9pm, R250pp. Booking essential: 087 150 3911.

24 June – 3 July – East Coast Radio House and Garden Show at Durban Exhibition Centre. Bookings: https://housegardenshow.co.za/

26 June – Umgeni Seam Railway open day at Inchanga Station, 1 Station Road. The open day serves as a fundraiser for a refurbishment program to repair flood-damaged railway infrastructure at the station. Tickets: www.umgenisteamrailway.com

29 June – The Wednesday Club at the Ballito Library, Compensation Beach Road, at 9am. Visitors welcome. Contact Filippa Heyneke at 082 602 4593.

Movie themed quiz night at Yami Rib & Burger Salt Rock between 6-9pm. Booking essential, entry free. Prizes for best dressed. Contact: 083 860 9283.

2 July – Writing among the equines at Redwoods Riding Centre, 10am-12.30pm with all horse interaction from the ground. Priced at R450pp, includes refreshments. Bring a friend and get a 50% discount. Contact 083 305 4813.

Shaka’s Head Calvary Community Church flea market at Townsend Park in Ballito between 9am-4pm. Vendors are welcome. Contact: 078 460 8951.
