Comedy skits a feast of laughter set for Sibiya Theatre

The duo dive into hilariously real scenarios and conspiracy theories with unexpected twists and endings in which, although inspired by actual events, all characters are fictional.

You will be left in absolute stitches and tears of laughter with a rip-roaring comedy-filled act – including drama, music and dance – when Sarafiwe! takes to the stage at Sibaya Theatre from July 29.

Artists and stars of the show, Jayashree Parasuraman and Lee Kunene, take everyday relatable situations South Africans face, coupled with current cultures from the perspective of the born-frees and ama2000s’, and turn these into comedy skits.

“Sarafiwe! is a political satire which will take audiences on a journey through post-apartheid South Africa, a journey of still seeking the promise of a better future for all,” says writer and producer of the show, Parasuraman.

She is a traffic reporter for East Coast Radio and has over 20 years’ experience in the theatre industry. She created the play GUPTURED in 2019 and it went on a national tour.

Tickets are R180 per person and available at TicketPro.

The show is set to run until July 31.
