How to make microwave puffy paint
This homemade puffy paint recipe is easy to make with just four ingredients: self-rising flour, salt, water, and food colouring.
Does your child enjoy painting? Puffy paint is a fun sensory project for preschoolers. Best of all, it only requires four ingredients.
What you need
- Self-raising flour
- Salt
- Water
- Food colouring
How to make it
- Combine equal parts self-raising flour and salt.
- Slowly drizzle in a small amount of water and combine. You want the paint to be able to dribble off a spoon. Continue to add water until you reach the desired paint consistency.
- Help your child add in a few drops of food colouring.
- Let your child paint patterns or basic designs on a piece of cardboard.
- Microwave your child’s artwork for 20-30 seconds (timing will vary for different microwaves). Let your child watch as the paint puffs out!
