#Letter: Praise for a doctor of substance

"Johan Botha became our family doctor, to our children, and then our children's children, and his passionate care for us and home consultations were worth more than words can describe" - Vaughan McDonnell.

Salt Rock resident Vaughan McDonnell:

We remember a young doctor joining the practice of Drs Schneeberger and Gill in premises adjacent to the Umhlali police station more than 40 years ago.

He has just retired after a career that has brought so much joy and comfort to his patients. His diagnostic capabilities, together with a caring bedside manner, are going to be sorely missed.

Johan Botha became our family doctor, to our children, and then our children’s children, and his passionate care for us and home consultations were worth more than words can describe.

He and his family have been an amazing asset to this place we all call home.

Thank you.
