Protesters set Cllr Banda’s house alight
Protesters are rioting through township stoning police.
The protesters who closed the N2 and R102 with burning tyres and tree branches set fire to ward four councillor Jetro Banda‘s home and car in the township.
Banda has reportedly been taken to safety while hundreds of people are continuing to riot through the township, stoning police and attempting to push their way back onto the highway according to Umhlali SAPS spokesperson Vinny Pillay.
