Off-duty police officers discovered the body of a man washed up on Virginia Beach on Sunday.

A HORRIFYING discovery was made by off-duty police officers who found the body of a 37 year old man that had washed up on Virginia Beach on Sunday, 15 June.
The officers were fishing on the beach when they encountered Rambachan Bhagwandeen’s corpse, at approximately 10am.
Lt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North police station, reported that the Phoenix resident’s body was found semi-naked.

“He was only wearing underwear and black socks. His body had sustained post mortem abrasions to the face, head and torso,” he said.
According to Deokaran they had received unconfirmed reports that Bhagwandeen suffered from a debilitating neurological brain disease, such as Alzheimers. “We do not suspect any foul play was involved. It is assumed that the deceased wandered off, somehow landed in the ocean and drowned.”

After his dissapearance his family immediately began searching for him at various mortuaries police said. His body was identified and claimed by his son on Monday.

The cause of his death and the preceding events are still under investigation.
