Driver abandons bus after crash

No passengers on board in Durban North bus crash.

POLICE are looking for a Durban Transport bus driver after he abandoned his vehicle following an accident in Durban North. The incident occurred on Old Mill Way on Friday night. According to Crisis Medical spokesman, Kyle van Reenen, the driver collided with a concrete bollard before allegedly leaving the accident scene.

“Crisis Medical paramedics along with eThekwini Fire and Rescue arrived on scene to find the bus had collided with a concrete bollard causing considerable damage to the body work. Fortunately there were no passengers on board. The driver is alleged to have abandoned the vehicle after the incident and could not be located,” he said.

He added police were investigating the circumstances around the accident.
