Genius alarm clock or annoying gimmick?

This snooze-proof alarm is genius, but will it might make you a morning person?

EVERY week, Northglen News brings you ‘Things You Never Knew Existed’.  This week its Ruggie, a talking alarm clock that forces you to stand up before turning off.

It may not have won the internet over just yet, but the developers of a special mat that doubles as an alarm clock are hoping to replace your snooze button pounding. The mat, called Ruggie, will make sure that you’ll never sleep in again.

Designed by Winson Tam and a team of entrepreneurs based in Vancouver and Hong Kong, the Ruggie is a pressure-sensitive alarm clock that forces you to get out of bed. Incredibly the alarm has no snooze option and requires that you stand on it with both feet for three seconds.
