MUST WATCH: Alleged drunk driver caught on M4

Two local residents captured this shocking video of a taxi driver swerving dangerously between traffic.

A VIDEO of an alleged intoxicated taxi driver wreaking havoc along the M4 has surfaced on Facebook. This comes after the Northglen News reported on yesterday’s horror crash at the La Lucia off-ramp and the fatal hit-and-run accident at Blue Lagoon on-ramp. The latter claimed the lives of two Durbanites, who were busy changing a flat tyre.

The video, captured by Natalie Bradfield and her son last Monday afternoon, shows the taxi swerving between the traffic, nearly crashing into several vehicles before the La Lucia/ uMhlanga off-ramp.

In her post, Bradfield  refers to the road as ‘a death trap’.

“I was praying he would turn off at uMlanga and go down to the taxi rank and stop, but unfortunately he went straight towards eMdloti. My blood ran cold when he did as I knew that the road from there on was single lanes, had no barrier between the lanes and that the oncoming traffic would have nowhere to go. I have no idea what happened after that. I felt ill,” she wrote on Facebook.

The taxi nearly crashed into the concrete barrier three times, she said.
