WATCH: Criminals break into parked car

Men break into car in broad daylight and steal cell phone.

A VIDEO circulating on YouTube courtesy of Crime Intelligence & Community Awareness (CICA) shows criminals breaking into a parked car and stealing a cell phone all within a matter of seconds. The shocking video starts with one of the men throwing something at the window, chipping it in the process.

He then follows that up with an elbow. The group of four men then calmly walk past the car and turn around and try the same thing again. This time another suspect elbows the window. Then another suspect uses more force to break-in, grab the phone and run. In all the criminals took 30 seconds to steal the item and getaway. It’s not clear where this incident took place.

This comes after a warning by the Durban North SAPS regarding theft out of motor vehicles in the area. In August so far, more than 20 cases have been recorded. Police spokesman, Capt Raymond Deokaran, urged residents not to leave items visible in the front of the car.
