uMhlanga M41 crash leaves one dead

The force of the collision caused one of the vehicles to crash into a concrete barrier.

ONE person has been killed following a collision along the M41 (east), near Flanders Drive on Wednesday. According to Netcare 911 spokesman, Chris Botha, the crash, involving a car and a cement truck, occurred at about 2pm.

“Reports from the scene indicate a cement truck collided with the car which was then pushed into the concrete barriers. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that the passenger of the vehicle died. He was declared dead at the scene due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.

“The driver of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries while the truck driver escaped uninjured. The patient was treated at the scene before medics transported him to a local hospital for the care that he required.

He added the exact cause of the crash would be investigated by the SAPS.
