Durban North resident survives attempted stabbing

The suspect allegedly smashed a tumbler and attacked the homeowner.

A DURBAN North homeowner has been left shaken after he was nearly stabbed by an intruder on Wednesday afternoon.

The suspect had reportedly broken into an out building on the East View Road property and was confronted by the owner, said Marshall Security’s Kyle Van Reenen.

The home owner was allegedly attacked with a broken glass tumbler.

He said the suspect then allegedly smashed a glass tumbler and attempted to stab the homeowner.

When reaction officers arrived at the premises the suspect was still on the scene and was arrested.

Van Reenen said a stolen cell phone was found in the suspect’s possession.
