Durban strap on your capes – it’s about to get colourful

The Color Run is back. This year it’s bringing The Superhero Tour to Durban’s shores.

COLOR Runners of all shapes and sizes will happily go from wearing white clothing, to being covered in bright colours at this year’s Color Run on 22 October starting at Durban North College at 9am.

When the happiest five kilometres on the planet returns to Durban next month, you had better pack your superpowers because the city’s superheroes will be challenging you to get more colourful than you thought possible.

The Color Run’s Superhero Tour is all about believing in the superhero in each and every one of us. It is a feel-good, happy, colourful event. At each kilometre mark of the run, a different colour of powder fills the air and covers the participants, creating an ever-increasing spectrum of colour and beauty.

The Color Run South Africa raised over R500,000 in 2016 for local causes and educational-based initiatives in the areas it visited.

“One thing Color Runners have demonstrated, is that it’s never only about them – the true mark of a superhero,” says Francois Viviers, Executive Marketing and Communications at Capitec Bank.

“The Superhero Tour is inspiring participants to celebrate themselves, and those who have mentored, encouraged, and positively influenced them,” says Trevor Latimer, national event co-ordinator of The Color Run South Africa.

At the finish line, the colour festival kicks off and the air is filled with millions of vivid colour combinations as participants get in on the colour throwing fun as well.
