Heavy rains expected across KZN coast

Heavy rain may lead to flash flooding expected over the KZN coast and adjacent interior.

A SEVERE weather warning has been issued for parts of the coast. The South African Weather Service said in a tweet this morning that downpours are expected along the KZN coast – with chances of localised flooding from this afternoon.

“Heavy rain may lead to flash flooding expected over the KZN coast and adjacent interior (Ugu, Ethekwini, iLembe, KingChetswayo, uMkhanyakhude) from this afternoon. There is also severe thunderstorms with possible hail and strong winds expected north western KZN by Friday afternoon.”

Last month, heavy rains and winds  claimed the lives of 11 people and damaged several buildings and homes.

Heavy rains also wrought havoc from the South of Durban right through to the South Coast, leading to extensive flooding and damage to properties.
