A VIDEO showing a young buck trying to unsuccessfully vault over a pride of lionesses has gone viral. The video which was uploaded onto the Kruger Sightings page shows the pride walking along the H4-1 between Lower Sabie and Skukuza.

According to Hannes Beeslar, who shot the video, two lions, outside the camera’s shot chased the buck towards the remaining lions on the road.

The buck leaped and bounced across the road straight into the jaws of the unsuspecting lions.

“It was fascinating to see how tough the cub was, it was also hanging on tight to get some reward out it. This was the best sighting ever and I’ve been going to the park for 14 years around two to five times a year and never seen anything of this kind. Simply amazing,” he told the YouTube channel.
