Armed men storm uMhlanga home

This was the eighth house robbery in 18 days in the north Durban area.

AN UMHLANGA home was robbed by seven suspects on Wednesday afternoon. The gang, using a white BMW, stormed the home on Herrwood Drive just after lunchtime.

According to Capt Raymond Deokaran, spokesman for the Durban North SAPS, the domestic worker was at home at the time of the robbery.

“The suspects ransacked the home making off with TVs and various other household items. The suspects were armed and one of the suspects reportedly had an assault rifle,” he said.

No arrests have yet been made.

In the last 18 days, there have been eight house robberies in the North Durban area.

In the most serious incident last week a domestic worker was assaulted during an armed robbery in Sunningdale.
