#Comrades2018: Bongumusa Mthembu secures third Comrades win
South Africans scoop gold and silver at this year's Comrades.

SOUTH African, Bongumusa Mthembu, has won this year’s Comrades Marathon. He breasted the finishline at the Moses Mabhida Stadium with a time of 05:26:44.
This is the Arthur Ford Athletics Club member’s third Comrades win.

Fellow South African, Joseph Mphuthi, scooped second place with a time of 5:35:14.
Third place was earned by Britian’s Steven Way, who completed the epic race in 5 hours 35 minutes and 27 seconds.

A South African also won the women’s race. Ann Ashworth, of the Massmart Athletics Club finished at 6:10:04. Second place was earned by SA’s Gerda Steyn and third place was won by Russia’s Alexandra Morozova.

The famous race started this morning at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall and the finish line, for the fist time ever was hosted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban.
