Umhlanga mall introduces new play area
Located in the outdoor Palm Court, the Lighthouse & Ocean play area, captures aspects of the North Coast’s personality.
THE Gateway Theatre of Shopping recently launched a new playground that will take children from the heights of the iconic uMhlanga lighthouse, to the fascinating depths of the Indian Ocean.

“Our intention with the Lighthouse & Ocean Play area is to create an engaging setup for kids to explore while their parents relax,” said Gateway Theatre of Shopping general manager, Feysel Potgieter.
“We are delighted with how our local coastline has been incorporated. The iconic eye-catching uMhlanga lighthouse, the hammerhead shark, yellowfin tuna, and seaweed are featured,” added marketing manager, Michelle Shelley.

The free play area also features a 3m slide for children to enjoy. While there is CCTV surveillance, the play area is not monitored by child minders and parents or guardians will need to watch their children.
