Man dies in yet another pedestrian accident on Queen Nandi Drive

Pedestrians must take extra precaution when crossing the road and make use of demarcated areas.

PARAMEDICS from Emer-G-Med responded to the second pedestrian accident yesterday, in the vicinity of Queen Nandi Drive.

Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said the accident occurred at the intersection of Queen Nandi Drive and Marseilles Crescent in the Briardene area.

“A male pedestrian, approximately thirty years of age, suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival by paramedics,” said van Reenen.

The driver of the vehicle sustained moderate injuries and was stabilised on scene before being taken to hospital.

“The earlier collision yesterday, on the N2 near Queen Nandi Drive, left another pedestrian dead just after 8am, ” said van Reenen.

“Pedestrians are advised to use demarcated crossings and only cross where it is safe to do so,” he added.
