Car theft suspects linked to Durban North, uMhlanga arrested

Various bank cards and retail account cards were found in the vehicle believed to be stolen and used by the suspects.

SUSPECTS linked to various cases of motor vehicle thefts in Durban North, uMhlanga and Ballito were arrested earlier today.

Marshall Security emergency dispatch centre responded to an alert on a Ballito community WhatsApp group.

The tactical team, together with Umhlali SAPS and other security companies, arrested the two suspects in Ballito.

“Various car break-in implements, jamming devices and cloned number plates were found when two suspects driving a white Hyundai, wanted in multiple cases of vehicle theft, were arrested earlier today,” said Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell.

It was also established that the vehicle itself was fitted with cloned number plates.

“The suspects were transported to Umhlali SAPS for further investigation and processing,” he said.
