VIDEO: Suspected housebreaker arrested, found in roof of Glen Hills home

The suspect had allegedly stolen several copper pipes from the Glen Hills home.

VIDEO footage has emerged showing an alleged housebreaker hiding inside the roof of a Glen Hills home he had previously stolen copper pipes from.

The suspect was arrested by Marshall Security and handed over to the Greenwood Park SAPS.

According to Marshall Security spokesperson Tyron Powell, a neighbour to the property in Ryde Place, noticed the suspect breaking into the home.

“When our officers arrived, they noticed that the roof tiles of the house were displaced and suspected that the housebreaker could possibly be hiding out in the ceiling of the property. They used a ladder to get onto the roof of the house, where the suspect was quickly uncovered and immediately arrested.

“The suspect, who lives in a nearby informal settlement, admitted to being involved in the previous theft incident at the same property where he had stolen all the copper pipes from the exterior of the house. He admitted that he returned to steal all the internal copper pipes,” Powell said.
