A SUSPECTED house robber was shot dead on Ridgeside Road in Umgeni Park on Wednesday evening.

It is alleged the suspect was part of a gang that had forced entry into the home just after 22:30.

Emer-G-Med paramedics spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said the suspect, believed to be approximately 30 years old, sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on arrival of paramedics.

“Reports from the scene alleged the man to have been a suspect in a house robbery at the premises, however, the circumstances surrounding the incident and the events preceding it are unclear and will form the subject of a South African Police Services investigation,” he said.
